I’ve got to admit, I’m a bit of a fan of Jay Leno. Or, maybe I’m just extremely jealous. Both? I’d like to think that if I was uber wealthy, I too would own an aircraft hangar at Hollywood Burbank Airport stuffed full of exotic cars and motorcycles. If you have watched Jay’s Youtube show Jay Leno’s Garage, not to be confused with his MSNBC show with confusingly the exact same name, you’ve likely noticed a soft-spoken gentleman in the background, quietly working away on Jay’s toys. This man is Jim Hall. Jim is Jay’s Chief Fabricator and all around go-to mechanic. Jim has had an ongoing project of his own that has occasionally found its way into Jay’s “Restoration Blog” videos-a real-deal Lotus Cortina. Jim recently finished the Lotus Cortina, and Jay was happy to go for a spin with Jim for a segment on his YouTube show. It’s a great video, Jim and Jay not only seem to have a good working relationship, but a kinship, likely forged from their love of all things mechanical.
